A former BBC Radio Merseyside journalist, Richard is currently working in Liverpool as associate director at one of the UK's biggest communication companies.
He is a former vice chair of the party's youth and student wing and was elected to serve on the Party's ruling body, the Federal Executive from 2006-08.
As one of the Liberal Democrats top campaigners Richard has masterminded record-breaking local and parliamentary gains for the Party including in 1997 for Rt Hon Malcolm Bruce MP in NE Scotland and in May 2008 winning a seat from the Tories in the new Sefton Central.
Richard is fighting for more NHS walk-in centres across Sefton Central as there is currently only one in the whole of Sefton. He was also successful in getting the fire engine at Crosby reinstated after Labour and the Tories voted to get rid of it.
In the 2010 General Election, Richard received 9, 656 votes, increasing the Liberal Democrats share.
